Natural Awakenings New Mexico

September 2019 Astrology

The themes in September for all of us are Harvest and Healing and how can harvesting be healing? We will be crossing the Harvest Moon cycle with Full Moon on Friday the 13th! Sun, Venus and Mercury will all oppose Chiron, highlighting the themes of self healing, healing with others, and the natural transitions that are this time of year. We harvest not only our fruits and green chili’s but also our heart’s desires. Saturn goes direct and life’s work resumes from summertime delays.

Aries: Marc and Angel from a blog called Hack Life have wisdom for you this month: their first quote to read any time you are about to judge someone: “Everybody you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.  Know this.  You never know what someone has been through, or what they’re going through today.  Don’t be lazy and make empty judgments about them.  Be kind.  Ask about their stories.  Listen.  Be humble.  Be teachable.  Be a good neighbor.” If you follow their guidance you may find yourself having deep and mutually loving encounters with people you least expected—and might even find real love.

Taurus: It’s harvest season and you more than anyone have creativity to harvest! This season invites you to express your creativity. Take the advice of Vincent Van Gogh: “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”

Gemini – your natural wisdom comes like Rose Franken describes: “Anyone can be passionate but it takes real lovers to be silly.” Never lose this gift and if you can add gratitude this month: you’ll be in your mastery, for as author Melody Beattie says “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.”

Cancer – Your words have more power this month to shine than ever before : here’s a male and female perspective “I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word. Sometimes I write one, and I look at it until it begins to shine.” Emily Dickinson and Tony Robbins: “Throughout human history, our greatest leaders and thinkers have used the power of words to transform our emotions, to enlist us in their causes, and to shape the course of destiny. Words can not only create emotions, they create actions. And from our actions flow the results of our lives.”

Leo: it’s a month to show your strength and never give up. Let your heart light shine as these two artists of life emphasize: Carlos Santana: “The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart. The most powerful weapon you can be is an instrument of peace.” as well as: Steve Harvey says: “Failure is a great teacher, and I think when you make mistakes and you recover from them and you treat them as valuable learning experiences, then you’ve got something to share.”

Virgo: Happy Birthday! to the Chris Hadfield of the zodiac ; knowing intimately: “Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It’s about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine.” Congratulations and this month you get to shine too! So light your candles and your heart pen and mouth more than you are comfortable with because this is your month to shine! I’m giving you liberty to light your own path the way you do it for others all the time!

Libra: you are coming to the end of your sun cycle, now completing. It’s time to listen within for your new directives. Overcome this tendency Betty Friedan points to: and take the time to listen within.  “It is easier to live through someone else than to complete yourself. The freedom to lead and plan your own life is frightening if you have never faced it before. It is frightening when a woman finally realizes that there is no answer to the question ‘who am I’ except the voice inside herself.” —B.F.

Scorpio: You more than anyone understand this: “Relationships are the flavor of life”—Pawan Mishra. You also understand: “The emotion that can break your heart is sometimes the very one that heals it,”—Nicholas Sparks; At First Sight. This month try stretching even further into this: “Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason.” —Novalis. It’s your month to write this kind of poetry.

Sagittarius: According to John Ruskin: “The highest reward for a man’s toil is not what he gets for it but what he becomes by it.” Who have you become that could have a new job opportunity on the horizon? If you’ve been waiting a long time for the right work: It’s a good time to start celebrating now! The right work elevates you like this: “Work keeps at bay three great evils: boredom, vice, and need.” ―Voltaire

Capricorn: You have Pluto and Saturn working together in your sign. Remember the wisdom of one who felt the forces of grief & pressure and learned focus and power through it. “As my sufferings mounted I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force I decided to follow the latter course”—Martin Luther King Jr.

Aquarius: This month may call forth your inner little girl in Bethany Hamilton’s style: like this: “Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That’s what little girls are made of.”  You may find yourself outside your comfort zone! Go with it and the rewards could be unimaginable!

Pisces: This month remember the wisdom of Suzy Kassen, “Whenever you should doubt your self-worth, remember the lotus flower. Even though it plunges to life from beneath the mud, it does not allow the dirt that surrounds it to affect its growth or beauty.” and for self mastery remember this: “Why do I talk about the benefits of failure? Simply because failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.” J.K. Rowling
